Bangladeshi Worker Nabbed by Indian Army at Military Station
INDIAN DEFENCE
In a significant security incident, the Indian Army detained a Bangladeshi national who was reportedly found working inside a military station located near the India–Bangladesh border.
Authorities are now verifying how he managed to enter a high-security area without proper clearance. The police are also probing whether there was any deliberate attempt to gather sensitive information or if the incident stemmed from negligence in background verification.
The Army has assured that internal security protocols are being reviewed to prevent similar breaches in the future. “Our teams acted swiftly and ensured that the individual was detained before any potential threat could arise,” a defence source said.
Further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the man’s presence and to identify any possible network that may have assisted him
According to sources, the individual had been employed by a local contractor engaged in maintenance work within the station premises. His presence came to light after security personnel noticed inconsistencies in his identification documents during a routine check.
Army officials immediately took the man into custody and handed him over to the local police for further questioning. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused may have crossed the border illegally before gaining employment under a civilian agency associated with the military facility.
