During a recent military technology summit in New Delhi, Indian Army Deputy Chief Lt Gen Rahul R Singh made a bold statement that during Operation Sindoor (May 2025), Pakistan was supported in real-time by both China and Turkey. He alleged that China used the conflict as a “live-lab” to observe and test its weapons, providing Pakistan with live updates on Indian military movements. Singh emphasized that 81% of Pakistan’s military inventory over the past five years was Chinese-origin and highlighted the growing need for India to strengthen its air defense and civilian protection infrastructure in light of such collaborative threats.

In response, Pakistan outright denied the allegations. Army Chief Asim Munir dismissed India's claims as “irresponsible and factually incorrect,” asserting that Pakistan acted independently during the operation. Meanwhile, China downplayed the accusation, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stating that China’s relationship with Pakistan is based on normal cooperation and is not aimed at any third party. She further clarified that Beijing had no knowledge of the specific claims made by India and reiterated China's desire for regional peace.

The controversy has sparked strategic debate in India, with experts calling for urgent upgrades to India’s C4ISR capabilities (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) and a reassessment of its preparedness for two-front warfare. If Lt Gen Singh’s claims are verified, it could mark a significant escalation in regional dynamics, positioning China not just as a diplomatic ally to Pakistan, but as an active participant in conflict scenarios involving India.
