As tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate, Israel and the United States have reportedly agreed on a strategy that would involve fast and powerful military strikes against Iran if circumstances demand it.India and the European Union have entered a new phase of cooperation with the finalisation of a historic free trade agreement, a move Prime Minister Narendra Modi described as a step toward bringing balance and stability to the global order.

The deal comes at a time when the world economy is facing uncertainty due to conflicts, protectionism, and supply chain disruptions.

Speaking on the agreement, Modi highlighted India’s growing role as a dependable global partner. He stressed that the India-EU partnership is built on shared democratic values, economic openness, and a commitment to rules-based international cooperation. According to him, stronger economic ties between India and Europe can act as an anchor of stability in an increasingly fragmented world.

The trade agreement is expected to significantly boost bilateral commerce by easing tariffs, simplifying regulations, and opening new markets for businesses on both sides.

Indian sectors such as pharmaceuticals, textiles, engineering goods, information technology, and agriculture are likely to gain improved access to European markets. At the same time, European companies are expected to increase investments in India across manufacturing, clean energy, automobiles, and advanced technologies.

Beyond trade, the agreement reflects a strategic shift. Europe sees India as a reliable growth engine and a trusted alternative in global supply chains, while India views the EU as a key partner for technology, investment, and sustainable development. This alignment strengthens economic resilience for both sides.

Modi also underlined that the deal goes beyond economic numbers. He said partnerships like the India-EU FTA help shape a fairer global system where growth is shared and cooperation replaces confrontation.

As the agreement moves toward implementation, it signals India’s emergence as a central player in shaping future global trade and governance, reinforcing its role as a stabilising force on the world stage.
